Adding a hyperlink

When working with Rich Text and Expandable Rich Text items, you may want to add links to destinations inside or outside your portal.

To add a hyperlink outside of your portal:

1. If you are not already in edit mode, click the Edit Mode handle bar ().
2. Within the body of your text, highlight the word or words you want to serve as the link.

   

3. Click in the toolbar area.
4. Enter the URL that will serve as the destination for the link.
5. Click OK.

To add a hyperlink within your portal:

1. Display the page you want to serve as the target page.
2. Copy the URL that appears in the address field of your browser.
3. Follow steps 1-3 above.
4. Paste the URL you copied into the field provided.
5. Click OK.

To test your link, click the edit toolbar to exit edit mode, then click the link you just inserted. Click your browser's Back button to return to your portal.

Notes

• You must have Contribute privileges on the page to add an item, and thus include a hyperlink in the item.
